Prokon signs $340M EPC contract for a new petrochemical complex.

Prokon, Azerbaijan’s leading engineering company, today announced that it has signed a major EPC contract for the construction of a new petrochemical complex near Sumgayit — the largest single project in the company’s history.

The contract covers the full engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) scope of the project. Once commissioned, the complex will significantly increase the region’s processing capacity and create thousands of direct and indirect jobs.

The initial phase of the project will begin in the second half of 2026 and will be delivered in stages. Prokon will ensure full compliance with international safety and environmental standards.

“This contract strengthens Prokon’s position as a trusted partner for transformative industrial projects across the Caspian region.” — Chief Executive Officer

The project is also part of Prokon’s sustainable-development strategy: the complex will deploy modern technologies for energy efficiency and emissions reduction.

The parties will also cooperate on local workforce training and technology transfer, helping to strengthen the long-term industrial potential of the region.
