The modernisation project of the Mingachevir hydroelectric power plant has been successfully completed. As a result, the plant's output and reliability were significantly increased with modern equipment.
The project renewed the turbines and generators, modernised the control systems and restored the supporting infrastructure. The works were carried out on a phased schedule that kept the plant in continuous operation.
Modern automation and monitoring systems enable remote operation of the plant. This improves operational efficiency and optimises maintenance costs.
As a result of the modernisation, the plant's service life is extended and the country's renewable-energy potential is strengthened. The project demonstrates Prokon's expertise in hydropower.
