Design work has begun on a new petrochemical complex in Sumgayit. Prokon has commenced the engineering design and execution-preparation works for the complex.
The project will significantly increase the region's processing and polymer-production capacity. The complex will comprise process units, a tank farm and supporting infrastructure.
During the engineering phase, 3D plant modelling, process simulation and multidisciplinary coordination are being applied. This approach reduces execution risk and optimises the project schedule.
The construction and commissioning of the complex will create hundreds of direct and indirect jobs in the region. The project will also help reduce the country's dependence on imports.
